I’m going to admit that I’ve been procrastinating a bit. Working my 9-5 career has kept me busier than normal that I’ve had some challenges finding time, let alone, the motivation to come to this personal space to blog.
My work laptop sits next to my personal laptop in my office. A few weeks ago, my routine was starting up my work laptop, closing it at the end of my shift, then opening up my personal laptop to blog. It was a good routine that lasted for about a month until things started to get a little crazy at the day job. No joke, my day job is both mentally and physically draining that at the end of the day, I just want to unplug completely. This standard turned into starting up my work laptop, closing it at the end of my shift, staring at my personal laptop with a “maybe tomorrow” sigh, then I’d go about my evening.
It’s been several “maybe tomorrows” to date and I finally pushed myself to pick up my personal laptop, open its lid to begin writing this little ramble of mine.
I write all day during my day job — emails, proposals, standard operating procedures, policies, communicating in chatrooms, etc. Can you imagine why writing gets unappealing for me at the end of the day?
THE CHATROOMS! There’s just way too many of them at work. I peak into the chatrooms every so often to see if people has called me out on anything – calling me out on things happen frequently but I’m ok with that because they’re trying to lever my expertise on something. What I don’t get is I often find peers chatting up a storm about personal stuff (cats, dogs, movies, weekend, etc), sometimes bashing others — how do people find so much time to chat that way? Is my workload just way more than others that I can’t even find time to say “how’s your day” or participate in this random chatter? I’m done ranting.
The important thing is that I’ve returned. To create a little more appeal into writing, I think I’ll change my approach a little… forget the AI, i think blogging needs to be genuine and reflect my true emotions. We’ll see how this goes.
