What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

On the Introvert -Extrovert scale, my personality leans more on the side of introversion and with that being so,I find it a bit of a challenge to express emotion outward — my happy face is almost always hiding behind a resting b**** face. People with whom I have not yet developed a bond with usually can’t tell what I’m truly feeling just by looking/or staring at me. That is stoic me.

The 5 things that truly make me happy, on the inside, are:

  1. Being alive and having a family to share this life with. My family brings me comfort, and with comfort I am able to show some emotional expression. They seem to like seeing me with a smile and I find it really weird how the family also appreciates seeing me grumpy.
  2. My Job. Yes, I am one who loves my job as if it’s a hobby that I sometimes have problems disengaging myself from my work. I am in healthcare management and the type of work that I do keeps me on my toes, keeps me engaged and keeps my brain stimulated. I must admit that I really like that feeling.
  3. Quiet moments, a glass (or two) of cheap wine like this one, some lit aromatic candles and a good mechanical massage: Wine-ding down seems to unknot every knot that knots up during the course of the day. Combined with the help of my heavenly back massager like this one and a foot massager like this exact one, this is pure contentment for me.
  4. Healthy and very spicy food that tastes good. Who doesn’t love tasty? I put this spicy condiment on not almost everything but on certain things that go well with the Tobasco-vinegar vibe. But the spicy add-on that i really LOVE the most is this sweet and oh so savory TRUFF SAUCE. The one caveat with the TRUFF is that the it comes with a beautiful price tag (I’m being sarcastic). I think the manufacturers should just put the content in a plastic bag and reduce the price by a few bucks, that should do it.
  5. Tear jerking movies. As a stoic, people can’t really tell when I’ve been hit with bad news or when someone’s ticked me off at work or at home. Tear jerking movies tend to subconsciously bring my emotional innards outwards and onto my face for all to see — they then realize that this chic does have feelings. If you want to know more about stoicism, you can read up on this book here.
